2002 | unfired clay | extinct

This was an exercise in sculpting clay using a subtractive method. I really enjoyed making this fellow, though the face was never quite what I wanted it to be.

It couldn't have been fired; a solid piece would likely explode in a kiln. Unfired, the sculpture wasn't able to survive its journey from Italy to Texas and has been since laid to rest in my mother's backyard.
